About the Test

What is the ADAPT Test?

The ADAPT test is a pilot aptitude test used by airlines to evaluate a candidate's cognitive ability, hand eye coordination, multitasking skills and ability to quickly solve maths and physics questions. Personality questionnaire is also part of this test.

Three Pillars

How to Prepare for ADAPT Pilot Aptitude Test?

Step 1

Knowledge

The syllabus of the Maths and Physics portion of the test is based on the high school syllabus of GCSE. Similar concepts are taught in 8th grade mathematics of CBSE. Open your textbooks and try to calculate the answers as quickly as possible but do not compromise on the correctness of the answer. Another way to prepare for this test is to do your day to day calculations without a calculator such as grocery shopping, restaurant bills etc. The questions are not difficult in themselves. What is important is your ability to answer the questions quickly. It shouldn’t take more than 5 seconds to figure out the answer to the questions. The exam is to test your ability to calculate things required during critical situations quickly and promptly.

Step 2

Aptitude

Sports activities or yoga lessons happening around you? It is time to participate in them. These activities help improve your co-ordination which in turn helps with the ADAPT test. Finding different kinds of activities, musical instruments, dance lessons, model making, all can help develop your aptitude. Play games such as Aerofly Flight Simulator, Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane with a joystick. These games help improve your hand eye co-ordination. Along with playing games, try to solve algebraic questions mentally, listening to debates, or news. This will help improve your multitasking skills.

Step 3

Behavioural (Personality Questionnaire)

No answer is wrong for the personality test. However, airlines expect professional behaviour. Your behaviour does not change in a short span of time. It takes months and it should change naturally. The best advice is to become the best person you can be. Think what would be the best decision to take during unusual situations such as passengers complaining about certain decisions. The best advice is to become the best of yourself and answer honestly what you will do in every situation. Figure out what is the best way to find a solution to real life situations.

How We Compare

How PilotSphere Compares to Symbiotics?

Unlike Symbiotics, PilotSphere offers a unique test every single time you take the test.

Some people like to use Symbiotics to familiarise themselves with the test while some use PilotSphere to adapt themselves to the exam. Symbiotics offers the same scenario every time you take the ADAPT test with them. You cannot expect the same scenario to come during the actual test with the airlines or flight training organisations. PilotSphere offers a fresh scenario every time you take the test. This makes you develop the skills and adapt to the test and helps you excel.

Another advantage of PilotSphere is that we offer unlimited attempts unlike Symbiotics which limits you to 15 attempts. You can take the tests every single day and improve your skills. Ground schools can make use of this by offering the test for a cheaper price to their students.

PilotSphere is more affordable. The package of Physics + Maths + FAST + Ball and Rudder game is offered by PilotSphere for ₹1,249 while competitors offer it for £62 GBP (~₹7,800+). The quality of the exams was never compromised while offering a cheaper price.

Another issue with the publicly available version of Symbiotics is that there is no support for rudder. The exams taken by airlines and flight training organisations also use rudder along with joystick. PilotSphere solves this by offering support for both joystick + rudders. Those who cannot afford a rudder or a joystick can make use of a keyboard to familiarise themselves with the exam. Budget joysticks do exist. A free trial is offered to test the compatibility before ordering the full product. You can make use of this to test the quality of PilotSphere.

PilotSphere does not claim to be better than Symbiotics. In fact, airlines use Symbiotics to test the pilots. PilotSphere just solves the issues faced by the pilots in the publicly available version. Many candidates use Symbiotics to familiarise themselves with the exam while they use PilotSphere to build the skills required to excel in unfamiliar scenarios.
